Very friendly staff, always going the extra mile to help out. We stayed for 9 nights, during New Year’s, and of course, things happened, but the staff was always willing to solve any issue promptly. We found breakfast to be perfect (not included in the nightly fee); enough choices, healthy, tasty and fresh. The location is wonderful; very close to the tram that takes you almost everywhere in Amsterdam; also, sometimes we walked instead of taking the tram. Just 1.5 km. or so from Van Gogh Museum, etc. The facility, like most buildings in Amsterdam, is an old (and beautiful) building, therefore there’s no elevator and you’ll find the typical Dutch staircases; also, it can be noisy. Not the hotel’s fault although a kind reminder to guests to keep this in mind could be helpful. The tram just outside the building is under construction, therefore access to the hotel by car is closed for the time being. Not an issue for us though. Just two blocks away, there are many nice restaurants, supermarket, bakeries, coffees … Water pressure and temperature in the shower was surprisingly nice! We loved our stay there and we will certainly stay there again next time we visit Amsterdam. There’s a small coffee machine in the room, coffee bags, tea bags, etc.

LOCATION Loved the location on Koninginneweg as well as the general neighborhood near the southwest end of Vondelpark, which I got to experience during a 2 hr. late morning stroll. At the time of our stay, Koninginneweg was being repaired so there was some construction noise (drilling, hammering, engine noise, crashing of metal plates). On the other hand, the Line 2 trams which normally circulate in front of the hotel were diverted to De Lairessestraat/Valeriusplein, making it very quiet at night. Your experience may therefore be different than ours. STAFF The staff, Titi and Leticia, were cheery, friendly and efficient. Our train was departing late in the afternoon and Titi let us leave our luggage at the hotel, which gave us the freedom to wander around the city without backpacks and suitcases in tow. We also want to thank Jose, who was in charge of cleaning our room & bathroom. Everything was spotless. BREAKFAST Excellent selection of feta/gouda/blue cheeses, various cereals, breads, olives, tomatoes, orange juice. The omelettes prepared by Titi and Leticia were delicious.

For me this was was available short notice 30+ euros cheaper per night than anything else nearby. It was actually cheaper per night than some of the private rooms at the hostels at the time i stayed. It's on a quiet street and right next to the green tram line that gets you to the touristy central bits in 10 mins, and it's near one of the parks which was beautiful. If you're out in the city after hours, the night buses get you back with only a short 5 min walk from the door. The rooms are similar to your typical British Travelodge in style and quality. I felt like i discovered a little gem with this place as I usually stay in the hostels when visiting Dam, and I will probably use this place for all future visits if the pricing stays as competitive.

I only spent one night in the hotel and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The bed was comfortable, I could make tea, the room was very clean and the staff was really kind. The central location on the edge of the park was also a bonus. There have been complaints about the street noise here, but the street was totally quiet on Friday night, I slept with the window open.

The staff from the reception to the cleaning staff were very friendly. Our room was cleaned every day. The location was also good. It was an advantage that there was a supermarket very close by. The heating in the room was sufficient. The stairs are very steep, so if you have a discomfort, you can take this into consideration. It was ideal for short stays.
